Here, on either level of the glassed in great room, south coast sunrises and horizon sunsets could lead to stargazing from bed through the glass ceiling, waking up to the breathing of whales, watching condors soar by the windows, and bathing in the pure spring water which flows into the house, on any given day.

Upstairs, the open kitchen is centered around a wood burning stone fireplace and a family table from which one again may look up or down the the Big Sur coastline, depending on which side of the table one chooses. All of the modern appliances serve the kitchen although their placement is so subtle as to not be noticed. This of course makes perfect sense when the kitchen has views of this caliber.

Walking north from the kitchen through a glass lines hallway, one enters Muennig’s master wing. Floor to ceiling glass and windows make up the ocean facing walls, complimented by a concrete fireplace and sunken tub centerpiece in front of them. A walk-in steam shower highlights the black stone double vanity bathroom, while the opposite corner of the bedroom which touches the mountain has been transformed by skilled stone masons into a meditation cave, which can double as a movie theater. Outside, decks and patios and terraces and paths lead through beautifully landscaped gardens to even more unbelievable views…on the way to the hot tub, the outdoor shower, or the nearly one acre flat upper parcel with its ocean facing amphitheater, gorgeous sculpture gardens, and potential building site should additional square footage be required.
