Grand staircase garland

I’ve dreamt of decorating this staircase for years and finally bought pieces here and there and did it! I bought lots of these pieces on major sale after Christmas. Do you have a staircase you like to decorate for Christmas? I coordinated it with our tree by using the same ribbon. Next I need to add lights! I love walking in the front door and seeing this view. ♥ Shop my daily looks by following me on the LIKEtoKNOW.it shopping app – http://liketk.it/2HFzC – @liketoknow.it . . #liketkit #LTKholidayathome #LTKhome #garland #christmasgarland #staircase #staircasegarland #christmasentryway #entry #entryway #entrywaydecor #christmasdecorating #christmasdecorations #christmasdecor #entrytable #christmasspirit #hotcocoabar #gallerywall #picturewall #buffalocheckchristmas #buffaloplaidchristmas #buffaloplaid #merrychristmas

The best thing about garlands is that they can go anywhere, and enhance just about any holiday decor theme. Just like this wintry-chic one pictured by @tablefor5please.

“Nothing says ‘deck the halls’ more than a garland on a staircase,” says Amanda M. Amato-Scotto, CEO and principal designer of AMA Designs & Interiors. “A staircase garland brings nature indoors and makes your entry feel extra special during the holidays.”

Holiday garlands can be used in small or large foyers, she adds.

Wintry antique wonders

Most entryways become a stomping ground of discarded winter gear during the cold weather, so why not add some charm by including a few outdoorsy antiques? That’s exactly what we see in the styling of this foyer by @lavenderbrookfarm, which includes a pair of wooden skis.

“These vintage articles are perfect to create a warm, cozy holiday vibe,” says designer Doreen Amico-Sorell, of Sorell Interiors. “Evoking picturesque holiday schematics will make guests feel like they’ve been transported to a wintry scene.”

We’d place bets that your foyer bench is simply begging for some holiday throw pillows. But skip the plain red and green this year, and opt for something a bit more fun, like these ones pictured in the home of @simple.joy.at.home.

“Festive throw pillows are a great accent to be used throughout the home,” Amico-Sorell says. “They help create a warm and inviting scene, and they’re usually inexpensive—there’s a lot of bang for your buck.”

Mini stockings

Who says stockings are only for the fireplace? Certainly not @southern_nest, as we can see from her charming entryway display.

“Mini stockings are a cute addition to any decorated home,” Amico-Sorell says. “Especially when they’re personalized.”

Fill them with fresh sprigs of cranberry or pine, or use them to hold smaller gifts for kids or pets. No matter what you store inside, these mini stockings are sure to charm the socks off your holiday guests.

Festive foyer tree

Your living room doesn’t have to get all the tree action this holiday season. In fact, we tend to be in the same camp as @mytexashouse—we think one tree just isn’t enough. Maybe it’s a tabletop tree, or just a slimmer one with lots of lights (as in this repost from @make_my_day_home_decor). Either way, start your celebrations at the door this season with a foyer tree.

Get the look: Shop your local tree farm or nursery to find the tree that’s just right for your entryway.
