“House Party” is the official Realtor.com® podcast about the overlapping worlds of home and pop culture, hosted by Rachel Stults and Natalie Way. Click the player above to hear our take on this week’s hot topics.

HGTV’s newest home renovation show, “Fix My Flip,” starts with a conceit we’re all familiar with: experienced real estate agent comes in to help home flippers who are in over their heads. But, as the show goes on, a “Shark Tank”-like element spices up the plotline before the remodel even starts: The host, Page Turner, offers the flippers an additional investment of cash for their renovation budget, in exchange for a percentage of the house’s final sale price. Do the flippers decide to take the deal, or do they renegotiate? It’s this type of out-of-the-box concept that drew us to “Fix My Flip” and why we were so excited to talk to Turner, who is also the show’s executive producer.

Click the player above to listen to this week’s episode of “House Party” and our conversation with Turner. We had a wonderful time hearing about how she got her HGTV start on “Flip or Flop: Nashville,” about the genesis of “Fix My Flip,” and why she’s had it up to here with the modern farmhouse look. (She’s not the only one!)
