Hail to the chief—we’ve found the ultimate work-from-home setup.

A 10,000-square-foot home on Sanctuary Drive in Kirtland Hills, OH, comes with a remarkable replica of the Oval Office.

You can buy the office and the house—which is not white—for $2,695,000.

The owner “was finding ways to use space, and he found this oval office idea to use the huge attic space that was completely unfinished,” says co-listing agent Jenifer Black. “It’s a room within a room. He built the entire circular room with the dome ceiling inside of the attic space.”

The owners are politics and history buffs, and they went to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library in Grand Rapids, MI, to study the replica office in the museum there, Black explains.

“They took measurements and notes and talked to the curators there, who let them come in for like six hours and really evaluate everything. They then went and started to kind of formulate their plan to put this in their home,” says Black.

Each president has the opportunity to customize the real Oval Office to his particular taste. This replica is a mix of two styles and just slightly narrower than the real one in Washington, DC.

“This is actually a George W. Bush and Barack Obama. It’s kind of a combination of their two aesthetics,” Black explains. There is a replica Resolute desk, a Remington statue, yellow walls, a flag painting both presidents displayed in their Oval Office, a seal on the carpet, a ceiling medallion, and other signature touches throughout.

Aside from a few personal books, all of the office furnishings are included in the sale.

“It’s really well done. I don’t think you can appreciate the detail of it from a couple of photographs. It’s pretty remarkable,” Black says.

Construction on the office addition was just recently completed, but the rest of the house was built in 2000.

The house has six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and three half-bats. It sits on 5 acres about 40 minutes outside of Cleveland.

“It’s in a beautiful neighborhood called the Sanctuary, and it’s got a swimming pool, a veranda,” Black says. “It’s a ‘wow’ house. You get a luxurious feel. As you enter the foyer, it’s got these big wooden double doors and a winding staircase and enormous chandelier.”

The grand feeling is carried throughout the house.

“All of the rooms are enormous. Who has a master bathroom that big? I’ve never seen one,” says co-listing agent Mary Holtcamp. “My husband talks about a song that says, ‘I want a bathroom that I can play baseball in,’ and I think this is the first one I’ve seen that you probably could.” The song is by Nickelback, in case you’re curious.

The master bedroom is on the main floor, and the other bedrooms are on the second floor. They open to a loft area with a Juliet balcony overlooking the great room below. An elevator provides access to all floors.

Also on the main floor is a formal dining room and an eat-in kitchen with high-end appliances, a walk-in pantry, and a breakfast nook.

“The dining area overlooks the pool, which is nice, and onto the veranda in the back,” Black says.

The house has an attached three-car garage that is tall enough to add lifts to fit more cars. There’s also about 4,000 square feet of unfinished basement space.

“There’s a bathroom down there, but there’s just potential you could do even more with down there,” Holtcamp says.

There’s also some unfinished space in the attic, if a new owner wants to progress with the presidential theme.

“There’s enough room off the Oval Office that somebody could put in a Lincoln bedroom if they wanted to,” Holtcamp says with a laugh.
