“House Party” is the official Realtor.com® podcast about the overlapping worlds of real estate and pop culture, hosted by Natalie Way and Rachel Stults. Click the player above to hear an all-new episode.

We love a good home renovation show—especially when that home renovation show pits HGTV stars against one another—so you can imagine how excited we are that the new season of “Rock the Block” has begun. For the next six weeks we’ll watch some of our favorite design experts go head to head to maximize the value of four identical houses. Each team has $225,000 to customize its house in pursuit of the ultimate prize: bragging rights and a street named in its honor. Oh, and did we mention that Ty Pennington is hosting? Yeah, this is going to be fun.

This week’s episode introduces us to the four teams: Mike Jackson and Egypt Sherrod from “Married to Real Estate,” Jenny and Dave Marrs from “Fixer to Fabulous,” Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas from “Bargain Block,” and Lyndsay Lamb and Leslie Davis from “Unsellable Houses.”

The teams’ first challenge is to make over the kitchen, dining area, and adjacent powder room. They are looking to add their signature style to their rooms while also increasing the appeal and overall value of the home. And who stops by to judge their hard work? New Kids on the Block alums/current renovation aficionados Jonathan and Jordan Knight. The former boy band members are the first of a handful of celebrity guest judges that we’ll see throughout the season.

So, which team’s kitchen, dining, and powder room had “the right stuff”? Click the player above to hear our recap of the entire episode. For the next few weeks you can watch new episodes of “Rock the Block” on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HGTV or Discovery Plus, and then tune in to “House Party” podcast for recaps the very next day.
