Witch opening the door to foyer

Beware the witches of Louisiana!

An unassuming house in Baton Rouge is creeping out potential buyers with its bewitched staging.

Like the New Hampshire home listing featuring “Halloween” movie villain Michael Myers and a Kentucky Victorian‘s frighteningly fabulous photos, this haunting home is casting a spell for Halloween.

The exterior of this newly built four-bedroom, 2,588-square-foot dwelling is picture-perfect, looking like something out of a magazine. But the interiors of this $549,900 listing have a surprise brewing.

Take a peek if you dare!

Wicked awesome

Listing photos show a ghastly ghoul holding the door open to the bright interiors, which feature hardwood floors, high ceilings, and lots of windows.

The spine-chilling listing promises you will “scream with excitement when you see the spooktacular finishes.”

The hair-raising house has been on the market for about five months. So a recent $19,000 price reduction and fun staging ideas are all meant to scare up a buyer.

“We were just hoping to provide some inspiration and get more eyeballs on the property and had a lot of fun doing it,” says listing agent Brittney Pino, of Brittney Pino & Associates.

Did she think the marketing ploy might be risky?

“Yes, in the beginning, it did cross my mind,” she admits. “It’s all in fun, and we tried to keep traditional characters and nothing too gory or scary. It has been very well-received.”

In the high-end kitchen, a witch can be seen stirring a cauldron (perhaps filled with eyes of newt) while a ghastly gathering of characters can be found in the open dining and living spaces.

“As for the home itself, it’s brand-new construction,” Pino says. “The builder put custom features in the house, like exposed antique beams, a free-standing tub, and custom tile showers. It really gives people that custom feel. He does such good job with the quality of finishes.”

The home is located in Arbor Grove, which is in a newer neighborhood in Baton Rouge.

“The neighborhood is surrounded by centuries-old live oaks that are canopied over the road, so it’s really beautiful,” Pino notes. “The neighborhood really promotes outdoor living.”

Pino’s team also hired a professional crew to create a video.

“The people featured in the shoot are agents and administrative staff, along with my two kids,” Pino says. “The builder is really happy with the video as well. It’s a fairly new neighborhood that is getting more attention. It’s all about taking it to the next level and keeping it creative. We wanted to create something that would stand out and make people talk.”

We bet the witches’ brew will pay off and someone will be just dying to buy it .
