With his NFL career in serious doubt, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier has listed his Fox Chapel, PA, home for $2.95 million. Shazier purchased the home in August 2017 for $2.6 million, only months before he suffered a serious spinal injury during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Shazier hasn’t suited up since 2017, but remains on the Steelers roster.

The Pro Bowler’s Pennsylvania spread offers seven bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms, and over 9,000 square feet of living space. Built in 1990 on a 9-acre lot, the home offers plenty of privacy.

On entering, you’ll find luxurious marble flooring, which leads into a large kitchen with Sub-Zero, Miele, and Dacor appliances. The spacious center island, bronze fixtures, granite countertops, and large walk-in pantry complete this remarkably well-equipped room.

The kitchen transitions into a huge family and living room area with a gas fireplace and window seats, and an abundance of natural sunlight. The formal living area and dining room provide plenty of space to host guests.

The master suite is located on the first floor and includes ample space to enjoy the pristine scenic views of the wooded lot. An opulent master bathroom features radiant flooring, a soaking tub, steam shower, and a huge walk-in closet.

Outside, there’s plenty of patio space, an outdoor fireplace, a covered kitchen and bar area with seating, plus a heated pool, as well a poolhouse with a bathroom.

The home is about 10 miles north of Heinz Field, in an upscale area where the current median list price is a robust $895,000.

Shazier, 27, was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He became a dependable fixture in the Steelers defense and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016 and 2017.

After his devastating injury late in the 2017 season, Shazier has undergone intensive rehabilitation in order to walk and jog again. In February, the Steelers said they continue to support his rehab efforts, and he has stated that his goal is to play pro football again.

Trudy Ward with Howard Hanna has the listing.
